Hyatt Regency Denver: Another Good Reason to Be a Diamond

Another brief stay at the Hyatt Regency Denver recently reinforced that Hyatt is the best choice out there for top-tier loyalty IMHO.  It was a new girl at the front desk and I couldn’t tell from the room number if I was in a suite (actually, based on the number I was pretty sure I wasn’t).  So, I was pretty stoked when I found out I had another huge suite (a Bristlecone).

The hotel had left me a nice amenity and there was a note from one of the VIP managers I’ve known for quite some time.

The room had a sizable dining room area, desk and living room as one very large room.  The desk came with a stereo which I used while working.  The living room had plenty of space along with another stereo system, though no way to plug an iPod into that one.

This isn’t the first time I’ve stayed in this suite, and it has one of the best bathrooms I can recall. The shower is huge with two shower heads, including  rain shower head.  And, it’s still the only tub I’ve seen where the water comes from the ceiling.

The suite also comes with a pretty sizable kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, an espresso machine and coffee machine.

The bedroom was a pretty standard one for this property.

It’s only May and this is already the 3rd or 4th upgrade I’ve gotten this season without using any of my confirmed suite upgrades.  Two of them have been at this property, which I stay at a lot, but the other one or two have been properties I’ve never stayed at before.

There are a number of ways to earn loyalty without staying a ton of nights at hotels.  If you can only pick one, my choice would be to get the Hyatt Visa card, which comes with Platinum status.     It makes a huge difference.

What’s your favorite hotel loyalty program?
